ALLISON CONYERS

Bermudian-born Allison Conyers moved back to the island after living and studying watercolour and oil painting in the U.S., to pursue a passion for botanical and still life painting, focusing on the beautiful and unique flora of her homeland.

She paints these gorgeous watercolours inside the Bermuda National Trust Shop at The Globe Hotel on Thursdays from 10AM-4PM and Saturdays from 11AM-2PM.

Visit Allison during Knot the Art Walk on Saturday, May 27 from 1-6PM to see her painting techniques in action, or to purchase note cards and matted botanicals.

The Globe Hotel also has an interesting history:

Built by Governor Samuel Day, the Globe Hotel dates from c. 1700. It is one of the oldest stone buildings in Bermuda. The Bermuda National Trust Museum is housed here, featuring a video presentation and gift shop on the main floor and permanent exhibit upstairs. The offices of the Confederate agent, Major Norman Walker, were housed here during the American Civil War (1861-1865), which makes this significant historic building a most appropriate site for the permanent exhibit Rogues & Runners: Bermuda and the American Civil War. Their video presentation, Bermuda: Centre of the Atlantic, features rarely-seen paintings and documents in telling the story of Bermuda and the forces which shaped her history. The Trustworthy Gift Shop is also a great place to find that unusual present or keepsake. Stop in on your next visit to St. George's, a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

The museum, on the corner of Duke of York Street and King’s Square, is open April to October, Mon-Sat, 10am to 4pm and November to March, Wed-Sat, 10am to 4pm.
